The swimming thing I'll probably finish tonight hopefully, I've got the core mechanics of it working smooth. It'll be a learning curve. I'm thinking the pin will probably add to the speed you currently go. Stats for this require endurance and swimming speed. I realized while making this, that It can be head to head, actually 3 people, you as Maiko, and someone to your left and another to your right. So that's fun. Also sabotage for wardrobe malfunction is fun too.

So like.. didn't feel like making a new post but anyways..
there's 3 mini games in this one as opposed to UM:SH and you are still challenging Luma to events that take place later in the game as you prepare for it meanwhile. The 3 are:
testing
fighting
swimming
wtf swimming? isn't it first person? yes. I thought of something rather interesting to pull this off in the 2-D 1st person perspective. might not be able to make it a race head to head but i can make a timed one where you have to beat other peoples times. I'm actually working on this now and will finish up the testing later on.
The testing minigame is mostly done programming wise. But I need to fill in all the picture place holders for the other characters ><;
the fighting I haven't started but is a cake walk compared to that throwing snowball thing in the other one. Of course there are some interesting new twists to the classic 1st person punch out like minigame. You can't walk up to people and fight them but you draw increased unwanted attention as you reputation becomes greater then Luma's. Also for other reasons.
Currently there are 6 things to wear in this game certain things may affect stuff differently. There will probably be only 8 things total cause the screen is filling up with buttons ><;
random days it will rain (maybe >.>;). since it isn't winter there isn't a heat meter on the side. It will probably be replaced with endurance for swimming and fighting.
you play as Maiko again in this one. Mainly because adding every character as playable from their own view point in the story is too large a project for me atm and would take forever to do solo, and with little compensation to my knowledge. Probably when It gets more popular I can spend more real life time to do this.
However, as Maiko you can use her powers in her hairpin to enhance anything you are doing to make it better. This affects almost anything and you can use it at anytime by triggering a certain button/key. Things this helps are like beating the hell out of somebody worse then normal, swimming faster, cheating faster, studying better, etc.
Also you can do all kinds of crazy jiggle crap with her bewbs to affect things differently as well. Hell.. If you thought it was ridiculous before by just popping up, it's whole lot worse now XD. If you liked it, then it's something that will probably get you into trouble as you play through doing stuff at the wrong place at the wrong time XD. You'll find out that trouble for yourself though.
the .swf files I create as I go along in this, are already over 6 MB and I haven't even added all the areas yet, nor the characters, nor the music. Um:sh .swf was about 16 mb when I was done and I managed to get to 8ish mb so I don't know how this will turn out. I'm not really concerned with file size yet but that would be extremely gay if I couldn't put it on NG because of size limits.
I was thinking about having 2 different versions of this game. Because it's going to be that awesome. one version without any concern for constraints and a version that does have constraints. Releasing them both at the same time.

This game is similar to UM: snowball holiday. This time it takes place during the regular semester, so you'll be able to enter the school, etc. Same areas plus a few more. Trying to add a bunch of the story in here without making it too big.
I got a lot done today I've been remaking the areas, thawed out from the winter, and I'm happy the way some of the backgrounds turned out.
